Indonesia Drafts Regulations on Carbon Capture and Storage and Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage to Accelerate Project Execution

CCS and CCUS will contribute significantly to the Indonesia pathway to Net Zero Emission in 2060. The country identified 2,09 Giga Ton CO2 capacity depleted oil and gas available for CCS and CCUS. In addition, additional estimated 9.68 Giga Ton of CO2 storage capacity available from saline aquifer. To accelerate CCS and CCUS project execution, to provide transparent mechanism, to ensure safety of the operation and to promote sustainable CCS CCUS project Government of Indonesia currently drafting Ministry Regulation on CCS and CCUS Project Implementation.
